Associated with Australia's first philosopher Barzillai Quaife whose writings are held in the archives of the Australian National Library Canberra; later to become the Riviere College educating the leading women in the colony; then a home to writers, musicians and artists; and for decades, a place for literature and the arts, the creative life is integral to The Hughenden.
