Built in the 1870s by Dr FH Quaife, the gracious Hughenden has quite a story to tell!
From grand residence to Masonic hall; nurses' home; dance hall; exclusive ladies college to a derelict and half-hidden shell.
Discovered in the 1990s by author Susanne Gervay and her sister, The Hughenden was restored
as a boutique hotel.
The Hughenden has always strived to offer guests an elegant alternative to chain hotels: a personalised experience and a feeling more like staying at a grand family manor. From the Victorian Lounge and Bar through to each individually styled room, guests are encouraged to find their own favourite space to relax and feel right at home.
